Hurry up an wait.

That is the Air Force motto right? So although we have 8 months until we move, there is a ton to do, and quite frankly 8 months is not a lot of time. The no fee passports themselves can take up to 4 months!! While we have already started going through all of our stuff (where did it all come from!) and packing we haven't done a whole lot of paper work. Why? Because we aren't stationed anywhere near a base. The closest base is 4 1/2 hours away!! So in order for us to get our no fee passports for example, we fill out all the paperwork here, then drive 4 1/2 hours to sign said papers, then drive home. This totally proves that "military efficientcy" is an oxymoron. So we are trying to plan out about 3 different trips to get all the paperwork done, so we don't have to drag the kiddos across the state once a month. Fun right? A big problem I am worried about is our vehicle. We have to ship it 6 to 8 weeks before we leave.....from the closest port, which for us is Baltamore, and it sounds like we don't get reimbursed at all for any rental car we'll have to use. Really? Fair right? Ack! Oh well, I just keep, reminding myself that in a few short months I'll be in Italia, near a base again, with "my people".
